This error response is designed for WebDAV purposes, but in some cases may appear elsewhere.

This error appears when scripting on the server causes an infinite loop until the server runs out of resources. This error will result of the server ending the request.

In most cases user clients are more likely to receive a ‘Too Many Redirects’ error than this error.

There is no client troubleshooting for this error. If the issue persists then contact server support for help.

The HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) 508 Loop Detected response status code may be given in the context of the Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) protocol.
